PoE is an emerging security system technology that transmits electrical power and data to remote devices over an existing standard Ethernet network’s twisted-pair CAT5 cables. This eliminates up to 33 percent in installation/labor costs associated with running individual AC power supplies to new entryway access control hardware. The transformation leverages the existing IT infrastructure, eliminates the need for local power, consolidates and saves labor costs for cable installation, reduces the time to install system devices, is more scalable and provides a large base of management tools and support.

PoE is now offered on FALCO’s renewed controller. Power-conserving controllers (FALCO PoE) offers significant energy savings resulting in lower cost of ownership and unsurpassed reliability for end users. With power reduction up to 33 %, FALCO PoE offers a cost effective and environmental friendly product to help you not in one but both ways.

FALCO controller connects directly to the IP network and utilizes the 802.3 at PoE (Power Over Ethernet) standards to power itself. This is a new ways for cost-cutting alternative of supplying power to door readers, door controllers and electromagnetic locks via the building’s Ethernet.

The FALCO POE IP door controller has 4 wiegand reader ports, and has a space for either the entry or exit reader to be mounted. The controller can be configured to work with almost all reader technologies without hardware change - including with Wiegand, ABA track 2 and contact-less Read/ Write smart card.

This POE controller provides direct communication through TCP/IP network. Each controller will consist of it's own IP address. Communication speed as compare to RS-485 is faster (100 Mbit/s).

Feature

Cost Saving Installation
1.Eliminates the use of power cable, conduit, power socket and manpower.
2.Reduces the amount of infrastructure to deploy.
3.Speeds up installation with neat cabling and design.

Easy Installation
1.Controller connects directly to your IP network and utilizes the PoE switch to power itself.
2.Easily install by integrators, installers or end-user.
3.Easily deployed

Smart Technology
Reduces electrical surges and lightning strikes by using only isolated TCP/IP.
Reduces energy consumption by up to 33 % compared to normal controllers.
Product Differentiation

Advanced Design
The Falco door controller uses the latest state-of-the-art flash memory technology which allows firmware upgrade. Essential equipment settings, card database and transaction database are stored in EEPROM, so that there is no loss of data during power outage.

Multiple Entry Access Mode
There are 3 different entry access modes that you can set to adjust to your security requirements: Card only, PIN only and Card & PIN only. This means a door can be programmed to operate on different entry access mode at either same or different time for each day of the week, including weekends and holidays. For example, a door can be programmed to operate on 'Card only' entry mode during office hours but automatically switch to 'Card & PIN only' entry mode after office hours.

Use of Single Card to Perform Multiple Functions
The prowess of the Falco door controller is its ability to allow a single card to perform multiple functions through software control. The types of functions consist of normal access control, programming, Arm/Disarm, guard tour, etc.

Schedules Settings
Up to 50 sets of weekly timers, where each daily timer consists of 3 sets of start and stop time interval settings can be used for system behavior control. These timers are also tagged to a day-of-week selection, which are used for all timers' related operations, such as locking and unlocking of doors, activating of User PIN function, etc.

Quite often you may want to unlock the office main entrance door during office hours, but the door shall be locked during lunch break and after office hours. This requirement can be achieved through timer(s) controls.

10-Digit MIFARE
Falco Controller now able to reads 10-digit card number instead of 6-digit. The more digit it can read, lower the possibility of reading duplicate card number. This will reduce the chances of number repeats or duplicates in large card volume. Identities mismatch might happen when there are duplicates card number and this will cause error to attendance report.
